The internationally positioned Wortmann Group with investments in over 30 companies also closed the 2022 financial year, which was marked by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and its effects on energy costs and supply chains, very successfully with a sales record of 2.08 billion euros. This is an increase of 20 million euros or around 1 percent compared to the previous year and the highest turnover in the Group’s history.
Siegbert Wortmann, CEO of WORTMANN AG, is satisfied: “I remain very grateful that we were able to achieve our goals despite the current geopolitical and economic challenges. We are aware that this successful performance cannot be taken for granted, as our entire society has once again been faced with great tasks and deprivations.
Thanks to its wide-ranging investments with a focus on IT, the WORTMANN Group was able to survive in this crisis and generate good sales figures. This has made us robust as a group of companies and has paid off in this further special financial year. For this reason, my greatest thanks go to all employees of the WORTMANN Group.” Meanwhile, the WORTMANN Group employs almost 2100 people in Germany alone, worldwide the number of employees amounts to around 2800.
The family-run WORTMANN AG continues to account for the largest share of total sales, with annual sales of around 1 billion euros. BAB Distribution GmbH with around 180 million euros, Kosatec with a turnover of approx. 550 million euros, Roda as a military IT specialist with approx. 30 million euros or the company MCD, which specializes in solutions in the medical sector, with around 15 million euros and WORTMANN TELECOM with around 120 million euros contribute to the good annual result in the area of IT companies of the WORTMANN Group.
“With its more than 15,000 specialist dealers and system houses, WORTMANN AG was able to continue to help numerous companies, authorities and schools to successfully advance their digitization projects,” says Siegbert Wortmann.
The annual volume in 2022 in the non-IT sector amounted to around 130 million euros. Associated companies such as WORTMANN Leasing and Factoring together generated sales of over 15 million euros. Westfalia Germany and the USA, as providers of automatic logistics systems, each generated sales of around 50 million euros in this financial year. Furthermore, TERRA Fitness, TERRA Sports, W&K Gehäusebau, TERRA Gebäudetechnik GmbH and the construction company S+W Bau also contributed their share.
Siegbert Wortmann, company founder and CEO of WORTMANN AG, continues to look positively into the future in both the IT and non-IT business areas of the WORTMANN Group: “The macroeconomic requirements of 2022 were not easy. Due to the Ukraine war, the year 2023 seems to demand no less from all of us in order to achieve our goals. The Wortmann Group has made some right decisions in the last decade. With the construction and expansion of the TERRA CLOUD and the founding of terra e-sports GmbH, the future was targeted at an early stage. I am very much looking forward to many good contacts and cooperations in this exciting and growing area of IT.”
